It’s almost impossible to see a dandelion and not grab it to make a wish. You don’t think twice about it, as soon as you see it you know you will make it yours. Slowly you get a hold of the stem, trying not to pull too hard because if you do then it’s over. You cut out a plant for nothing.
As you hold it in your hand you start questioning yourself what to wish for. You have to make up your mind quickly before the wind blows a little harder. Many wishes start running through your head.
What immediately might come to mind are common wishes like “I wish I get the job”, “I wish to have a lot of money” or “I wish to get in shape”.
But after a few seconds you start thinking of more emotional wishes such as “I wish to find The One” or “I wish to be happy”.
Finally, you realize that you need to be a little bit more specific and try to wish for something that should happen soon, something that we can measure, something that will give us a sign that our life is on the right path. Something that would prove that making wishes actually works.
You close your eyes for one second and then you blow….
As you see the dandelion fall apart you realize one blow may not be enough, so you keep blowing because the unwritten rule is that if all the little seeds don’t fly away then your wish won’t come true.
And there they go, floating through the air sending a message to the heavens. Whispering your wish to the universe so it can align the planets in the right way to make it happen.
My son and I found the biggest dandelion, it was so big that we blew it together. We both made the same wish. Not sure this goes against the other unwritten rule of not to say your wish out loud. But t does not matter, us wishing together was better than the wish coming true. It was a Kodak moment.
We found the giant dandelion in our adventure chasing this guy…
It was a great day.
Moraleja: Better than making a wish is granting one.
