As I look at my 12 year old son, I wonder how the world will be in a few years and how the innovations of today will become outdated long before he reaches my age. I feel nostalgic about my childhood, about how playing outdoors and riding bicycles has been substituted for playing Minecraft on an iPad mini.
However, at the same time I can’t help but feel excited for many technological advances that we get to experience today. As Christmas approaches I start to check out cool gadgets for myself, my friends and family that go beyond the latest iPhone. This week I found two wicked ones, and although one won’t be available until next year they are worth asking Santa for them now…
I have been using a pair of Bluetooth headphones for over 1 year now to go work out. I recall the first time I wore a pair of Jaybirds, I felt like it was my birthday. I couldn’t believe the freedom that I had gained by not having a wire hanging from my ears to my phone.
With time, I have seen a few other similar options from Jawbone, Bose, Motorola, etc. but it was not until now that I found out about something even better… Earin: The world’s smallest wireless earbuds.
So what’s the difference? Earin is two separate earbuds that together function as one Bluetooth headphone. There is no wire connecting one earbud to another or to the phone. Earin provides you with total freedom when it comes to movement. Earin will be available early 2015.
Now for my second gadget… imagine being a part of your favorite video game, being able to experience a three-dimensional digital space and feel that you are right there! Well, the Oculus Rift is a new reality headset that lets players step inside their favorite games and virtual worlds.
